Mikaela Marmion, LICSW, RYT

Mikaela combines a unique blend of styles to offer nature-based programs designed to connect participants with themselves, one another, and the natural world. She is a licensed therapist, yoga teacher, and nature mentor with over 20 years of professional experience in schools, clinics, camps, and parks ~ offering play therapy, ecological awareness, expressive arts (including music and theater), outdoor sports, and yoga/meditation. Mikaela is deeply rooted in working with kids in ways that promote resilience, awareness, empowerment, and curiosity and wonder about our natural, social, and internal worlds. She is passionate about helping people to remember our belonging in the web of all life ~ and to develop the capacity to pause and find alignment and deep rest amidst our busy worlds. She finds immense joy in helping young folks to listen deeply and to more fully become the uniquely magical beings that they are.

Theater made a huge difference in Mikaela’s life as a child, providing a pathway to develop confidence and rootedness through difficult times. She has always since believed in the power of theater to help kids access their connections to self and others, and find and express their unique voices. For the past 3 years, she has been assistant directing the middle school play at The Grammar School. Although Mikaela has enjoyed and spent many hours in traditional indoor theater productions, her heart is in immersion with the natural world. Mikaela leads a range of forest adventure programs for kids and teens in the southern Vermont region. She has offered programs with The Grammar School, Putney School, Vermont Insight Meditation Center, 350 Vermont, Se-tu retreat center, Adventure Camp, and privately for homeschool and family groups. She is thrilled to be teaming up with Wildbrook to offer forest theater to younger kids this fall!
